Are your butterflies harmed in any way?
No all of our butterflies are raised on farms in Peru and are allowed to live out their natural lives which can range between two weeks and two months depending on the species .There are a few species like the monarch that can live longer. Some monarchs which make the amazing North American migration from Canada to Mexico can live up to 8 or 9 months. Because our butterflies are protected from predators their survival rates are greatly increased and it is possible to get specimens that are in perfect condition even though they have lived out their entire lives. Usually older wild butterflies would have damaged wings caused by attacks by predators such as birds.

How long do the frames last?
The frames can last for literally decades. No special care is required but do avoid direct sunlight, close proximity to devices that emit heat (e.g. stoves, electric heaters, central heating ducts etc.) and humid conditions (e.g. bathrooms, kitchens, damp basements etc.)

How long does it take to ship?
Generally the product should arrive within 7 to 10 business days in North America and longer for other destinations. Unlike some companies we ship out every day of the week except Sundays so our service is generally very good. This is not mass produced art and availability of certain species can vary depending on the season and lifespan. If you have a special date in mind or are ordering for popular holidays such Christmas, Mother's Day or Valentines Day, be sure to make make your purchase well in advance, as demand can be high.

Can you make any custom-designed frames?
We can not guarantee custom-made frames however it could be possible depending on the request .You can email us with your request and we will try our best to fulfill your order. Remember that the frames must be built and there would almost certainly be a delay of several weeks as well as a higher cost depending on the species and potentially a higher shipping cost. Keep in mind too that we only have access to South American species.
